The Biomedical NMR Research Center was established in 1993 as a subsidiary of the Electron Spin Resonance (EPR) Center. The Center currently belongs to the Research Division of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology.
Dr. Jeff Dunn founded the Biomedical NMR Research Center in 1993. Dr. Dunn directed the Center until 2004, when he relocated to the University of Calgary. Dr. Risto Kauppinen has been the director since June 2007. The Biomedical NMR Research Center is located in the Vail building of the Dartmouth Medical School Hanover Campus. The Center houses a 7T horizontal Varian animal MR scanner.
