Phase I: Introduction to Diabetes Self-Management
There are 3 classes in Phase I.
The first class is offered on several Fridays each month, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. This class consists of nutrition basics, pathophysiology of diabetes, ADA Recommendations for Care, and monitoring skills to test blood sugars.
The second class (the second Friday of each month, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm) consists of nutrition to prevent complications, acute complication management, medication information, and sick day management.
The third class (the third Friday of each month, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm) consists of exercise benefits and recommendations, foot and dental care principles, pregnancy and diabetes information, chronic complications information, behavior goal setting strategies, and how to deal with stress.

Phase II: One-Day Tune-up: The Latest Research Some treatment methods are always being updated by scientific advances. This one-day tune-up exposes people to the "latest and greatest" concepts, techniques, and trends.
