Donate to Research FundThe Section of Rheumatology provides a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic services to adults and children with arthritis and diseases of the musculoskeletal system.

Clinical interests include but are not limited to:

  • Arthritis: inflammation of one or more joints that results in pain, swelling, and limited movement
  • Crystal-Induced Synovitis (Gouty Arthritis): an attack of a metabolic disease marked by uric acid deposits in the joints
  • Lupus: a chronic, inflammatory autoimmune disorder
  • Osteoporosis: the thinning of bone tissue and loss of bone density over time
  • Psoriatic Arthritis: arthritis often associated with irritation and swelling of the skin along with redness, itching, and scales
  • Sarcoidosis: inflammation of unknown cause occurring in the lymph nodes, lungs, liver, eyes, skin, or other tissues
  • Vasculitis: inflammation of blood vessels that may cause damage, blockage, blood clots, or other symptoms

We work closely with hand surgeons, orthopaedists, dermatologists, nephrologists, endocrinologists, physical and occupational therapists, as well as other providers, to provide optimum care. Our team is committed to the importance of research and education in improving patient care.
