At DHMC's Obstetrics and Gynecology residency, a full staff of subspecialists complement the wisdom and clinical expertise of the generalist obstetrician/gynecologists, nurse-midwives, and nurse practitioners who have earned the trust and loyalty of the community over decades. Department members at all levels demonstrate commitment to teaching and research activities, and they are enthusiastic about the opportunity to share their expertise with you and others who are committed to the health care of women.
The subspecialty staff has active programs in assisted reproductive technology, urogynecology and pelvic surgery, and ultrasound. The ample caseload of benign gynecology and gynecologic oncology cases gives residents excellent surgical experience. An active maternal-fetal medicine division provides training in the full breadth of obstetrics.
We have the only residency curriculum designed in response to the guidelines for inclusion of primary care skills in Obstetrics and Gynecology training programs. Based on RRC and CREOG guidelines, the curriculum was crafted to provide residents with a range of primary care experiences.
