The School of Surgical Technology at DHMC has, since its inception, ranked consistently among the top AST/PAE national schools. In 2004, it was the #1-ranked institution. The school has full CAAHEP accreditation. Our goal is to train interested individuals to be key members of the operating team.

A Surgical Technologist (ST) is a highly skilled individual who works with surgeons, registered nurses, and other health care professionals to deliver a high standard of care in the operating room setting. In less than a year, students will have developed the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to assist members of the entire intraoperative team to achieve an optimum outcome for patients.
