Work-Related Injuries, Illnesses, and Exposures
BACKGROUND
Evaluation, treatment, and referral is provided to all employees who suffer an injury, become ill, or incur an exposure to chemical or biological agents (blood fluids, communicable disease) during the course performing their job duties.
PROCEDURE
All such incidents shall be immediately reported to the area manager or supervisor. At that time, the employee will be asked to complete the Employee Report of Injury, which should be brought with them when seeking medical care.
If an incident occurs when the Occupational Medicine Department is closed, the Emergency Department should be utilized for initial care, with follow-up provided through the Occupational Medicine.
Employees who miss work as the result of a work-related incident should promptly contact the benefits section in Human Resources for workers' compensation information.

- Slips, trips, falls
- Contact/allergic dermatitis
- Latex sensitivity
- Blood and body fluids exposure
- Overuse/repetitive strain
- Communicable disease exposure
