The Bariatric Surgery Program at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center offers a team approach to weight loss (bariatric) surgery for patients in New Hampshire, Vermont, and greater Northern New England.

The bariatric surgeons, nurse practitioner, and dietitians evaluate patients who are thinking about weight loss surgery, and also may consult with other specialists to make sure that the patient's health is optimally managed prior to surgery to make the surgery as safe as possible.

Types of weight loss surgery currently available at DHMC include gastric bypass and adjustable gastric banding. In the near future, we plan to offer the laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy for very high risk patients.
