Seeing a Specialist
| Some health insurance policies require that your consult your family doctor (primary care provider, or PCP) before you visit a specialist. Your PCP must authorize the visit. This is called a referral. If you need to see a specialist for a health condition not treated at the Community Health Center:
Please note: A referral from your PCP does not guarantee that your health insurance company will pay for your visit to the specialist.
