The Trauma Program at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) provides care for patients who come through the Emergency Department requiring immediate treatment of injuries. Upon providing initial care, the trauma team continues to attend to patients' critical care and specialized needs.

The DHMC Trauma Program is a leading program in the treatment and care of injured patients, and serves as the tertiary referral center for complex trauma patients throughout Northern New England.

The program is the only trauma center in New Hampshire to earn a Level One Trauma Center verification signifying that the physicians, nurses, and administrators in the Trauma Program at DHMC provide the highest level of injury care.
