Our dietitians meet individually with patients to discuss eating plans, weight management, and the science of food and nutrition. Tailoring a nutrition plan to meet your medical needs will help speed up your recovery and restore you to health.

Your doctor may refer you to one of our dietitians:

  • If you have been diagnosed with a condition such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high blood cholesterol, heart disease, renal disease, acid reflux (heartburn), obesity, or an eating disorder
  • If you are unable to meet your nutritional needs by eating and require supplemental parenteral nutrition (TPN) or enteral nutrition (tube feedings)

If you are staying at the hospital and have special dietary preferences such as kosher or vegetarian meals, you may be seen by a diet technician.

If you are a patient of the Cardiology Department, Norris Cotton Cancer Center or the Bariatric Surgery Program, you will work with dietitians in those departments.
