New sculptures by Sibylle Pasche installed at DHMC

Sybille Pasche sculptureFive large marble orbs have appeared on the grounds of DHMC at the intersection of Loop Road and the approach to the Cancer Center/East Entrances. Their smooth, organic shapes recall seed pods or eggs and invite the curious passerby to approach, reflect and touch.

Sybille Pasche sculpturePasche on her work

“I try to take away the optical weight... carving and hollowing out... I always want to explore the inside of a sculpture, this huge infinite space and give it an image by creating the way to it. Sometimes it’s a hole, a sort of a door to pass through, sometimes a slit like a wound, opened by force and the outside form becomes a protective shell. You have to be careful with this mysterious place...”
