Epilepsy Evaluations

New patients in DHMC's Epilepsy Program will have an initial evaluation with one of our doctors, to determine the nature of the seizures and the best way to evaluate them. We then conduct a variety of tests, depending on your symptoms, to give us a better idea of how to treat your epilepsy. You may be able to manage your epilepsy with medication or dietary changes, or we may recommend surgery.

Your doctor may order various tests to locate the exact cause of your seizures and determine the best treatment for you. Testing usually happens in three phases.
