Mission Statement
Our Mission at The Pain Management Center is to enhance patients' quality of life through a decrease in pain and an improvement in the ability to enjoy daily activities. We accomplish this by taking an integrated approach to pain management, providing consultation and treatment to individuals with acute, chronic, and cancer pain. Each patient is prescribed an individually-tailored treatment plan after having been thoroughly evaluated by our skilled team of medical experts.

The Richard Barrett Pain Management Center offers a coordinated and centralized network of providers from a variety of disciplines directed towards diagnosis and treatment of painful conditions. The Center has a long history of innovation and commitment to its patients, combining a caring and rational approach to painful conditions with clinical and laboratory investigations and capabilities. The Center strives to be a resource both for the Medical Center and the community in increasing awareness of pain relieving capabilities.
Treatment approaches include pharmacological management, psychological evaluation and treatment, physical medicine availability, multi-disciplinary case conferences, and the gamut of procedures proven to be effective in the management of pain. The Barrett Center is spearheading the use of invasive technologies in the treatment of angina pectoris and other painful conditions. Special interests in addition include cancer related pain, neuropathic pain, pain and coexisting psychiatric disease, and the use of opioids in chronic pain, including patients with substance abuse.
Special services include analgesic and antispasmodic infusion device implantation, spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, and a variety of neurolytic procedures The Center utilizes cryoneurolysis and radiofrequency neurolysis. We provide second opinions and confirmatory evaluations. The Center can see patients for specific services or for comprehensive evaluation and care.
