Clubfoot Program
The Clubfoot Program at DHMC was established in 1998. Dr. Moen and other providers in the Department of Orthopaedics have treated over 500 children with clubfoot since 2003.
Clubfoot is a foot deformity, present at birth, in which the foot is turned to the side pointing inwards. Clubfoot is not painful when the patient is an infant, but treatment should start as soon as possible because, as the child ages, the condition becomes more problematic.
The condition is treated by casting the foot and using a foot brace or by surgical methods, depending on the age of the child and severity of the clubfoot. For more information, call the Department of Orthopaedics at (603) 650-8678.
