The Child Advocacy and Protection Program (CAPP) is a multidisciplinary program created to help evaluate and manage child maltreatment, including consultations for physical abuse, sexual abuse, and medical neglect in the outpatient as well as inpatient setting. In addition to urgently scheduled evaluations, abuse evaluation clinics are held twice a week and are staffed by CAPP personnel. These exams provide extensive histories and detailed examination, including colposcopy as indicated. Coordination is provided with other CHaD subspecialists. Children are also seen or consultations offered on an urgent basis as needed. CAPP personnel work closely with protective services, law enforcement, schools, social agencies, and referring providers and also provide ongoing medical education for providers and agencies in the region. CAPP, Child Advocacy and Protection Program, provides service and training regarding all aspects of child maltreatment, including prevention.
