The June 7 "Nite at the Races" was a rousing good time for a crowd of nearly 250! People "bought" and bet on their favorite video horses, cheered them on to the finish line and some enjoyed a shining moment in the Winner’s Circle. An elegant box supper added to the racing atmosphere. The June 9 CHaD Classic Golf Tournament drew a sold-out field of golfers. Long Drive champions Mike Gorton and Pat Dempsey wowed golfers with their wit and amazing driving skills. Mike even managed to make a 380-yard hole in one! Between the two events $100,000 was raised for the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth. This year's funds were again directed to the hospital's Child Advocacy and Protection Program (CAPP). The CAPP program helps the region's most vulnerable children, those who are the victims of abuse. See the 2008 Tournament Results |
