Ever since the work of local artists brightened the walls of the former Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, the arts have been instrumental in creating an uplifting environment for DHMC's many patients, staff and visitors.
A generous bequest from Gertrude Mertens, the gift of Audubon prints from Laurance and Mary Rockefeller, and a donation from the DHMC Auxiliary form the basis for the Arts Program and have allowed it to expand over the years. Currently, our programs include:
- Permanent installations of donated and purchased works of art
- Rotating exhibitions in six locations throughout DHMC
- An Artist in Residence who works with patients, visitors and staff to create their own art
- Live performances in the Main Rotunda and East Mall
Get involved in our public art project!
DHMC and AVA Gallery in Lebanon have come together to create art throughout the campus. We are encouraging local artists to submit their work. Patients and staff will also have an opportunity to contribute to the project.
