Affiliate Information System

AT DARTMOUTH-HITCHCOCK we believe communication between health care providers is imperative in providing patients with the highest quality care. To this end, we’ve established the Practice Affiliate Information System (PAIS).  This suite of Internet-enabled services provides the clinicians and staff of community-based practices with access to Dartmouth-Hitchcock physicians and clinical data on referred patients.

Who Can Use the PAIS?
The PAIS is available to any practice that refers patients to any Dartmouth-Hitchcock location. Individual accounts are created for the clinicians and staff who need access to DHMC clinical information.

What are the benefits of the PAIS?
As a timely tool for sharing important clinical patient information, the PAIS enables referring clinicians to confirm clinical impressions and receive immediate feedback and information about a patient’s medical care. The PAIS improves the continuity of care, ensuring that you, as the referring clinician, remain involved in the patient’s care after he/she has been seen at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. In addition, the PAIS reduces the need for duplicate testing, since tests performed during a patient’s visit to Dartmouth-Hitchcock may still be valid.

Besides patient information, what other benefits does the PAIS Provide?
The PAIS provides access to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock BlitzMail email system, which allows easy two-way exchange of documents and information between affiliates and Dartmouth-Hitchcock health care providers. PAIS users can search selected Dartmouth-Hitchcock and Dartmouth College Biomedical Libraries electronic databases, including OVID, which covers the Medline index. Associates can also search the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Continuing Education Schedule for upcoming classes.

Affiliates are required to sign agreements enforcing strict adherence to Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s internal policy for confidentiality and Release of Patient Information.
